Depending on age, prescription, eye health, maturity and lifestyle, options can include specialist spectacle lenses, myopia-control soft contact lenses or orthokeratology lenses worn overnight. No single option is right for every child.

Can myopia control cure short-sightedness?

No. The aim is to slow progression while providing clear vision. Results vary and no treatment can guarantee that myopia will stop progressing.

What age can myopia control start?

There is no single starting age. Suitability depends on when myopia appears, how it is changing, the child’s clinical findings and whether they can use the chosen option safely.

Is Ortho-K the same as laser surgery?

No. Ortho-K uses specially fitted contact lenses overnight to temporarily reshape the corneal surface. It is non-surgical and requires careful lens hygiene and regular professional aftercare.
