What to expect
Clear advice, not a rushed transaction.
Your student eye examination
We check your vision, prescription, focusing and eye coordination as well as eye health. Tell us what you notice during lectures, reading, design work, coding or lab sessions so the examination reflects the visual tasks you actually perform.
Managing screen-related discomfort
Screen discomfort does not always mean you need stronger glasses. Dryness, reduced blinking, lighting, posture, uncorrected prescription and long periods without a visual break can all contribute. We will identify relevant factors and explain sensible adjustments.
- Check the prescription you use for study
- Review focusing and binocular vision
- Discuss dryness and contact lens comfort
- Build manageable break and workstation habits
NHS eligibility for students
Being a student does not automatically make every adult eligible for an NHS-funded sight test. People under 19 in full-time education and students who meet other NHS criteria may qualify. Ask when booking and bring any relevant proof of eligibility.
